Dr. Murfield is
a seasoned business coach and inspirational
speaker who helps individuals and
organizations realize their ultimate
performance, production and profits. Over
the last 25 years he has helped develop
people and improve processes as a corporate
trainer, college professor, academic mentor
and life coach. He utilizes his wealth of
experience and training in Communication and
Business to help clients move from where
they are to where they want to be. His
encouraging, understanding and
uncompromising approach is built on common
sense, practical application, tested
theories and current research. He is
unrelenting in his quest to obliterate the
ordinary and unleash the ultimate. Loren
worked warehouse and factory jobs before
returning to college at age 30 to earn the
first of his three degrees.
Dr. Murfield is
a certified quality facilitator by both the
Resource Associate Corporation and Total
Quality Institute. He is certified to offer
their processes in Executive Leadership,
Leadership, Management, Supervision, Sales,
Customer Service, Annual Goals Review,
Strategic Thinking & Planning, and Cycle
Time Reduction.
Loren has also
written and offers his own Communication
Skills Seminars in Conflict Management,
Listening and Persuasive Speaking. He is
currently writing a book series on moving
business from ordinary to ultimate and
expects the first book, “From Chevettes to
Corvettes: Driving Business from Ordinary
to Ultimate” to be out in late 2005.
Loren has
experience working with international
businesses and clients. He recently opened
the Osei-Mensah & Murfield School of
Communication and the Osei-Mensah & Murfield
Consulting firm in Ghana, West Africa. He
was instrumental in designing the business
and then interacting with officials to
launch each of these ventures. He has also
helped a number of international students
excel by integrating a cross-cultural
approach to their personal and professional
lives.
Prior to
founding Murfield International, Loren
taught traditional and nontraditional
students at the community college,
bachelor’s and master’s degree
universities. He served as Communication
department chair for two years. Within
those college assignments, he taught 20
undergraduate and M.B.A. courses. He
designed and taught Managerial Communication
and Innovative Organizational Presentations
for two MBA programs. He also designed
several different undergraduate courses such
as Culture and Conflict Management,
Political Communication and Gender
Communication. Other courses taught are
Public Relations, Leadership, Business
Ethics, Team Building, Persuasion,
Organizational Communication, Public
Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Small
Group Problem Solving, Business Ethics,
Interviewing, Business & Professional

Loren received
his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the
University of Nebraska. He has written
extensively on the emotional intensity of
language to legitimize political, legal and
social action. He received his M.A. and
B.S. in Communication Studies from South
Dakota State University. He is a Certified
Quality Facilitator with the Total Quality
Institute and with Resource Associate
Corporation.
